Q6: What happens if an application is filed at the wrong Service Center?
A6. Forms I-485 should be filed at either the Texas or Nebraska Service Centers. However, through August 17, 2007 only, employment-based adjustment applications filed at the California and Vermont Service Centers will not be rejected and will be relocated to the appropriate Service Center. Filing at the wrong location could result in processing delays.

I had breakfast today with a few advocates and an Obama Administration official who noted that the immigration summit will now be held on June 25th. Encouraging. I also learned that the current expectation is that the immigration reform bill will likely start in the Senate and that Senator Reid is hoping for reform legislation to be considered in the fall.

Most of the time, I write about problems immigrants have with US immigration officials, but this week I heard from an American in Valencia, Spain who had her purse snatched right after arriving. Gone were her credit cards, cash, and, most importantly, her passport. I was wondering if this recession could turn out to be a silver lining for those of EB2-I,C who manage to survive it. Come to think of it, with all these job losses theres bound to be a downturn in hiring - resulting in lesser number of EB1 and EB2 ROW applications. This means more could overflow to EB2 I and eventually EB3 (I,C and ROW) survivors will benefit to.
Although we also need to remember that the H1B quota will still get filled up on Apr 1 - recession or not. So don't really know how this would turn out.
What are your opinions folks?

Hey guys,
If any one is a client of Cohen and Grisby and looking to appliy AOS now, have you heard anything from them asking for forms and docuements or when they will start submitting the applications.
I looked at their website and they haven't posted a thing, nor have they sent an e-mail, like they sent after the first July bulletin came out in June.
I was wondering if any one is in same situation as I am. By the way I already tried to reach them, but could not get through.
Thanks!!

If i get you right, what you are asking is H1 to F1 conversion, why it is not possible ?
It is possible provided if one is maintaining his or her H1 status, till requesting to convert to F1.

Hello,
I am not sure if this is good place to ask this.
1. I have moved out of US 5 months ago and I am working for my GC sponsoring employer overseas. What happens to my I-485? Is it considered abandoned?
2. While I was working as H1 I contributed to 401K. I want to know if I can leave that money in the US till retirement age and then start widrawing while living overseas. I expect I will not be a US citizen at that point.
Can anyone point me to a competent accountant who can help with question 2?

I'm trying to figure out how to make a 3d vector animation of a person walking or dancing. more specifically, the outline of a person walking/dancing.
I've seen this before on other sites, but can't remember where. sometimes it's the 3d outline animation, sometimes its asingle-color 2d animation. does that make sense. I'll try to post an example if I find one.
Anyway, does anyone know this process or know of a place that shows how it's done? thanks.

My wife and my documents were delivered on June 6th and receipt date June 14th. My AP was approved on July 20th. However, my wife's is still pending though there are two date update since mine is approved - July 22nd and 27th. Anyone has the same situation?

My I-140 was approved from Nebraska service center, but my attorney sent my I-485 case to Texas. I came across few people here on IV who have experienced the same.
Did USCIS provide any information regarding this? If so could you provide the link?

What happends if we don't get our checks cashed and no receipt after aug 17th, but the documents get returned.
